Concert & Touring

MagicQ consoles are designed for life on the road, by lighting pros who live it. Bring our consoles out on the road fully supported by advanced features and fast workflows.

Concert & Touring

Touring often involves adapting to changing conditions in each new venue. Whether it means small but important changes to the physical spacing of the rig, or using a few more lights in some venues than in others, or actually adapting the plot to what is hanging in the venue when you arrive, you have your work cut out for you.

Supporting the touring Lighting Operator/Designer/Director when tackling lighting challenges is at the core of our design philosophy. MagicQ was created by people who are working lighting designers and programmers. Their insights into how to make the daily adjustments go smoothly are based on real-world experience in your shoes.

The ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions in each venue is what makes MagicQ consoles the ultimate touring workhorses. Our passion at ChamSys is engineering consoles with features and workflows that help eliminate tedious and repetitious processes, giving working professionals the adaptive techniques they need to succeed in the demanding world of concert and touring.

The show design above specifies the following products:

Clone, Morph, and Copy Programming

Move from venue to venue – smoothly adapting to changing conditions – with features and workflows that enable you to convert your show to any manufacturer’s fixtures and easily expand your programming when fixture quantities increase.

Group Cues & Effects

Easily maintain and recreate FX across fixtures by taking advantage of a programming structure that allows you to efficiently program based on groups that update automatically whenever fixtures are added, changed or removed.

Bring More Universes Under Control

Lighten your load on tour by reducing the need for external processing units with the ability to control up to 400 universes directly from a single console, while bringing the flexibility to control house and touring rigs on separate networks.

Fully Transferable Show Files

Travel between shows with the confidence that your show file will work and run on any MagicQ platform, with software that also runs identically across hardware platforms, whether PC or Mac.

Timeline Based Programming

Record show timings live onto a highly visual timeline that allows for fast timecoding without external hardware. All timeline based programing creates timecode stamps, enabling you to quickly convert your recording session to listen to external timecode ready for the show.

Multi-Console Operation & Programming

Agile multi-console capabilities that enable multiple programmers and operators to work from a single show file across up to 10 consoles on a network. Grant specific control of individual fixtures, universe zones or last active. Ideal for multi programmer sessions on large shows & ‘dimmer tech’ console side of stage for palette alterations and fixture troubleshooting.
